Before we all had kids of our own, my sister (Heather)
would serve these every Christmas morning for breakfast. Every time I have them I think of her. A great comfort food for me. Yummy and good memories.
Ingredients:
2-3 packages dinner rolls (the kind that come in the
aluminum pan already)
Swiss Cheese (2-3 packs depending on how many rolls you
get)
Sliced Ham (again depends on how many rolls and the
thickness of the ham). During the
holidays left over Honey Baked ham is the best.
Spread Mixture Ingredients:
2 sticks margarine softened
2 Tablespoons poppy seeds
2 small onions (or one large onion) chopped
5 heaping teaspoons prepared mustard
Directions:
Blend the spread mixture ingredients in blender until
smooth and refrigerate 24 hours.
Split rolls in half lengthwise
Spread each half with butter mixture (make sure to save
some spread for the top of the rolls).
Place sliced ham on bottom half of rolls and top the ham
with swiss cheese.
Return top half of rolls and spread the outside top
portion with butter mixture.
Return rolls to aluminum pan and seal with foil.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until cheese melts
(about 5-7 minutes)
Remove from oven and cut rolls into individual sandwiches.
